I was inspired by superfoods early on in my nutritional journey. In 2004 I was first introduced to the humble Goji Berry, and shortly after that, Raw Cacao. These foods have had such a profoundly positive effect on my life that I wanted to make them available to everyone.
Beryn and I started and continue to run Soaring Free Superfoods in 2006, a company changing the way people interact with the food supply chain, with the intention of bringing love back into business, in harmony with nature.

WHAT ARE SUPERFOODS?
Nature’s most powerful sources of nutrients
Dictionaries define “superfoods” as being nutrient-rich and considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being. That’s a good start, but there’s much more to superfoods than that.
At Soaring Free Superfoods, we define superfoods as organic or wildcrafted, raw, plant-based whole foods that have been recognised since ancient times as being able to heal and nourish the body.
Superfoods often come from the world’s most energetic places, such as the Amazon rainforest, the Andes mountains, the foothills of the Himalayas and the African savannah. Every biome produces superfoods that have been traditionally used by indigenous peoples.
Western science is now proving what these ancient cultures have always known: that the exceptional nutrient density of these foods is far beyond that of conventional foods. With the incredible healing abilities of these nutrients, superfoods bridge the gap between food and herbal medicine.
Superfoods re-boot your system, boost your nutrient levels and restore equilibrium
Modern, mass-produced food is no longer nourishing enough to keep us as well-tuned and energised as we need to be to sustain our fast-paced lifestyles.
- Farming has changed so radically in the last 70 years that what is now accepted as food usually has little semblance to what our grandparents would have eaten.
- Chemical agriculture has depleted soils of essential minerals, resulting in food that may be aesthetically pleasing but which lacks nutrients.
- Increasing use of toxic biocides exposes all of us to new poisons that our bodies cannot counteract.
- Industrial food companies process this inferior food into highly refined products which cannot nourish us as real food does.
- Disease rates continue to rise as most people’s diets consist of nutrient-deficient foods.
- Western civilisation is over-fed but under-nourished.
Superfoods have the ability to satiate hunger at a deeper level, giving your body what it truly needs. This explains the resurgence of interest in the superfood wisdom of the ancients.
Soaring Free Superfoods products are certified organic or wildcrafted & certified pesticide free, guaranteeing you far higher levels of trace minerals and nutrients, and negligible levels of pesticide contamination. Our bodies are efficient at absorbing nutrients from real food, so choosing organic foods is one of the most profound ways of improving your health.
Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives. “ -Willa A. Foster
SUPERFOODS VERSUS SUPPLEMENTS
The complex functioning of nutrients in whole foods cannot be replicated by isolated supplements.
The supplement industry has emerged as a proposed answer to the growing problem of poor food quality. But chemical farming created this problem and that same way of thinking cannot solve it – using chemical supplements manufactured with inferior, synthetic ingredients won’t reverse the ill effects of eating industrial food.
Chemical supplements contain no DNA. Research is showing that the DNA in whole foods actually relay information to our own DNA. The body needs more than lifeless, inorganic nutrients. Nature is a fractal, biological system where all parts work together to achieve authentic, holistic nutrition and wellness.
